Compliance & legal direction
We're transparent about what Agree.Solutions does — and doesn't — claim.
Are documents signed with Agree.Solutions legally binding?
Agree.Solutions is designed to support ESIGN- and UETA-style electronic signature workflows: the signing flow captures intent and consent, logs every event with IP and timestamp, hashes documents so changes are detectable, and produces a certificate of completion. We do not guarantee legal enforceability — whether a signed document holds up depends on your jurisdiction and your specific use case.
What we're built to support
Each of these rests on the technical controls described on the security page.
Designed to support ESIGN & UETA
Our signing flow captures intent, consent, and a full audit trail of signature events, and produces a certificate of completion — the building blocks of ESIGN- and UETA-style electronic signatures.
Tamper-evident records
Original and completed documents are hashed (SHA-256) so changes are detectable, and every event is logged with IP, user agent, and timestamp.
HIPAA-ready architecture
Private storage and access controls are built to support a HIPAA workflow for qualified plans after a BAA review. We do not represent the product as HIPAA compliant until that review is complete.
Compliance questions
What does ESIGN or UETA generally look for in an electronic signature?
These frameworks generally look for the signer's intent to sign, consent to do business electronically, an association between the signature and the record, and a copy the parties can retain. Our signing flow captures each of these and records them in the audit trail. Whether a particular document qualifies still depends on your jurisdiction and use case.
Does Agree.Solutions guarantee my contract will hold up in court?
No. We do not claim guaranteed legal enforceability in every jurisdiction or court-proof signatures. We provide the audit trail, certificate of completion, and tamper-evident hashes; enforceability depends on your specific use case and local law.
Are there documents that should not be signed electronically?
Some categories are excluded or treated differently under state and federal law — wills and certain family-law and court documents are common examples. Check with a qualified attorney before using electronic signatures for those.
Is Agree.Solutions HIPAA compliant?
The architecture is built to support a HIPAA workflow for qualified plans after a BAA review. We do not represent the product as HIPAA compliant until that review is complete.
Do you claim SOC 2 certification?
No. We do not claim SOC 2 certification. The security controls we do operate are documented on the security page.
